During a Network Mapping, all it-oriented devices get listed resulting in a network plan.
A network mapping is a good step before conducting other measures, e.g. a Security Auditing or the implementation of a Firewall, Intrusion Detection oder Proxying. This steps makes most sense shortly before or after a hardware conversion.
Description
A network mapping results in valuable information. This serves as a basis for further planning:
- Collection of data documenting the network infrastructure and ressource exhaustion
- The network architecture (elemental structure of the network)
